Philip J. Micciche, President and CEO
Philip J. Micciche has served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of S2 Technologies since January 2007. He has served as the President and Chief Executive Officer and as a director of Oryx since April 1997. From 1993 to 1995, Phil was Chief Executive Officer of AXCIS Information Networks, a provider of sports information data. From 1990 to 1992, Phil was President of Dysan International/Magnetics L.P. and oversaw its initial public offering in Hong Kong in 1991. From 1983 to 1990, he held several executive management positions at Xidex Corp. From 1983 to 1985, Phil was Senior Vice President Marketing at Xidex Magnetics, which merged with Dysan Corp. in 1985. Prior to 1983, Phil held positions as Chief Executive Officer, Vice President of Sales, Product Sales Manager and Chief Engineer for various companies. Phil received his BSEE from Northeastern University in Boston.

Mark Underseth, Founder and CTO
Mark Underseth founded S2 Technologies in 2000, bringing over 20 years of experience in the design of embedded communication devices, including mobile satellite, automotive, and digital cellular products. Prior to founding S2 Technologies, Mark was the VP of Engineering and responsible for all software development at Mitsubishi’s Mobile Communications Technology Center in San Diego.  His primary focus was on the development of the world’s first single chip dual-mode IS-136 handset. Prior to Mitsubishi, Mark held the position of Senior Director of Engineering at Uniden’s San Diego R&D Center, where he led the software development of two generations of GSM and TDMA/IS-136 Digital Cellular handsets. Prior to Uniden, Mark was the Technical Manager of the Wireless Software department at Hughes Network Systems, where he led the software design and implementation of the first US TDMA (IS-54) commercial handset (M6100).  Mark received a B.A. in Computer Science with an emphasis in Mathematics from Point Loma College, and M.S. in Computer Science from San Diego State University. Mark has been awarded two patents and has six patents pending in the area of embedded systems.

Rob Gorman, Vice President of Engineering
Rob joined S2 in 2004, bringing over 20 years of experience in software systems development and engineering management. His experience spans a wide variety of products, including optimizing compilers, hosted applications, interactive development environments, databases and web applications. Prior to S2, Rob served as Director of Engineering at Keylime Software, where he led the engineering team in the creation of a hosted Enterprise CRM system strong enough to result in the successful sale of the company to Yahoo. Rob holds both a B.S and M.S. in Computer Science from the University of California, Riverside.

Robert Howell, Senior Director of Technical Engagements
Robert joined S2 in 2001 as Director of Engineering, bringing over 13 years of experience in embedded software development, biomedical and wireless communications to S2. Prior to S2, Robert was the Director of Software for Mitsubishi’s Mobile Communications Technology Center in San Diego. Prior to Mistubishi, Robert worked for Rockwell Semiconductor Systems and Pacific Communication Sciences Inc (PCSI). Robert received his B. Eng. in Computer Engineering from the University of Victoria in British Columbia, Canada.

Andre Odermatt, Director of Professional Services
Andre joined the S2 sales team in 2004, bringing over 18 years of experience in hardware, software engineering, and technical sales support. His experience spans a wide array of products, including electronic pump controllers, Telecom test systems, car diagnostic systems, and telecommunications protocols. Prior to S2, Andre was the Systems Engineering Manager at Intel’s Network Software division. In early 2000, as the Systems Engineering Manager at Trillium Digital Systems, he built a worldwide technical sales support organization (Systems Engineering), which later became part of Intel’s Network Software division. During his time at Intel, Andre continued to manage and grow the technical sales support team for the Trillium product line. Andre holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Applied Sciences of Central Switzerland, and a postgraduate degree in Computer Science from the School of Engineering and Information Technology at Berne University of Applied Science in Bern, Switzerland.

Mitch Underseth, Chief Financial Officer
Mitch joined S2 in 2002, bringing more than 25 years of high-tech financial experience at public and pre-IPO companies with multiple product lines and business groups. He is responsible for all financial planning, reporting, analysis, and investor relations, as well as for overseeing all financial systems, facilities, and legal operations for S2. Prior to S2, Mitch served as the CFO and interim CEO at Cogency Software; he also served as a director and CFO of Oryx Technology, Aptix Corporation DOS Devices, and Triptych CD. He has held various executive management positions at Dysan International/Magnetic L.P., Xidex, Memorex, and Burroughs. Mitch received his B.S. in Business from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon, and his MBA from the University of Washington in Seattle.
